Specialty Program -3rd Day Option

From: $187.00 / month for 10 months and a $321.00 sign-up fee

Threefold Village offers this 3rd Day option as an extension to the 2 Day Program  for Kindergarten and “Grades” ranging from  5 to  11 yrs.   Threefold Village 2 Day programs for the grades aged students include Monday and Tuesday, 10a – 3p. With this enrichment service your student’s enrichment experience will add Wednesday 10 – 3p and include exclusive subjects not available on Monday and Tuesdsay.  

For Early Childhood students, a third day can be added any day of the week, Monday through Friday, based on availability.

Specialties vary by age groups, and are described  in more detail below.

Description

Threefold Village Specialty Program – 3rd Day Option is an “add-on” to an existing 2 Day Program for students age 5 – 11.  The schedules vary based on age / grade group.

Kindergarten / TK

For Early Childhood students, the rhythm of the day is the same as the the 2 day program.  This 3rd Day option provides an additional day of enrichment services for the student, and an additional day of support for the parent.

 

Schedule 1: Ages 6 -7 (Appropriate for Grade 1) 

Main Lesson

 Wednesday starts at 10:00 am starts with a continuation and deeper examination of the week’s Main Lesson topic.  The teacher, uses this extra day to bring hands-on activities, special projects and to deep dive into subjects introduced earlier in the week.

The lesson is followed by Lunch and a Free Play period.

at 1:00 pm the children return to the classroom for Handwork.

Handwork

The students will join Ms. Zink for another great benefit of the 3 day routine.  Ms. Zink is able to work with your student two days per week, this allows for thorough practice, deepened understanding and retention of skills.  Your student will enjoy diving into additional projects and crafting to aide in developing important fine motor skills, visual tracking and strengthening her will-forces by working through crafts and learning new skills. 

The students then prepare to finish their day learning about farm and gardening practices.

Farm / Garden

Farm and Garden begins at 2:00 pm.  Working the soil is an incredible way to connect with the natural world, learn the value of work and to reap the rewards of perseverance. This enrichment brings fundamentals of bio-dynamic farming and responsible, sustainable stewardship of the Earth into practice with the goal of producing value within the community.

The day concludes at 3:00 pm for Pick-up.

Schedule 2: Ages 8- 9 (Appropriate for Grades 2 – 3)

Main Lesson

At 1:00pm, Second Grade visits the Farm and Gardening class, while Third grade will go join our Beginning Strings class.

Beginning Strings (Violin and Viola)

Instructed by Niv Ashkenazi, a former student of Itzhak Perlman and Glenn Dicterow, the Third Grade students will enjoy Beginning Strings, yet also embark on an exploration of music-making, using their voices to build a foundation for their musical endeavors!  Children will learn the basics of playing the violin or viola, by ear and by reading music.  Our Strings class is an excellent introduction to the fundamentals of music, such as the rhythm, tempo, dynamics, tone and melody.  Students will need to bring their own instrument.   (Threefold Village will refer you to a place of rental, or you may rent from a renter of your choice.)

Waldorf Spanish

At 2:00 pm, Students will  be led by an experienced and Waldorf Certified teacher on fun filled journey to command the Spanish language and it’s concepts..  The teacher brings a seasoned and kind teaching presence, while acclimating students to the language, or helping the child who already knows the language advance her understanding while having fun.  

Schedule 3: Ages 9 – 11,(Appropriate for Grades 4 – 5)

Main Lesson – Deep Dive

Ms. Newton will enjoy leading the grades children through somewhat sophisticated topics in Language Arts, Mathematics and other essentials of learning in order to advance their understanding of the week’s material and desire to discover more in these subjects.  The older children, ready for new challenges are eager to overcome them and will enjoy approaching these depths under the direction of a strong Waldorf-certified teacher, in Ms. Newton.

Lunch

A supervised lunch and free play will occur between noon and 1:00 pm.

Waldorf Spanish

At 2:00 pm, Students will  be led by an experienced and Waldorf Certified teacher, Ms. Levito.  Ms. Levito brings a seasoned and kind teaching presence, while acclimating students to her language.  For more details please, read Rocio’s letter to Parents in the Description through this product listing:

Mid Grades Strings (Violin and Viola)

Instructed by Niv Ashkenazi, a former student of Itzhak Perlman and Glenn Dicterow, the Fourth & Fifth Grade students attending Mid Grades Strings, will learn and refine new skills and important musical theory.  Children will advance their technique of playing the violin or viola by ear and by reading music.  Our Strings class is an excellent option to cement the fundamentals of music, such as the rhythm, tempo, dynamics, tone and melody.  Students will need to bring their own instrument.  (Threefold Village will refer you to a place of rental, or you may rent from a renter of your choice.)

 

The Specialty Program –  3rd day option should only be purchased for students enrolling or already enrolled in the 2 Day program.
 


 

 

Notes about the Specialty Program:

3rd Day Option aligns with your 2 Day Program

  • Student Enrollment agreements and waivers will be required for any student attending the 3rd day option.   The 3rd day option is governed by the same agreements governing the 2 Day Program.
  • Parents will send their children with their own lunch, although lunch will be supervised by Threefold Village Staff.
  • This Enrichment option starts at 10am, drop-off at 9:45am.
  • This Enrichment option ends at 3pm . Pick up is between 3p and 3:15p
  • After-care is not available at this time.
  • Full year is September 10, 2018 – June 7, 2019.
