What to Expect

Children are introduced to a variety of workshops and activities led by people working on a 19th-century farm. Join them in learning about the trades and responsibilities of apple farmers and how people in the past relied on one another for products and survival. This content-rich program will have children expend excess energy as they perform hands-on activities at several stations in our historic orchard and provide follow up materials enabling further education.

As enthusiasts of the American past, Stone Soup Farm has developed educational programs exploring significant historical themes from the unique perspective of farmers, pioneers, and leading figures, enriching Americans’ understanding of their heritage. With a hands-on approach to history, our interpreters provide insight into agrarian living while students are engaged in keeping centuries-old traditions alive.
